I bought this player in Nov ‘09. It was my first BR player. I bought it for the price, guess I learned my lesson. The firmware updates are a pain and the site says you can use a cd but you can’t. The BR discs take FOREVER to load (like 5 min) and I’d say that out of 10 movies I put in 3 don’t work. Now you say that may not be a lot but these are brand new discs. I called the company and they were no help told me it was the software on the disc. HA, they need to keep up with the software its not my problem and how am I supposed to watch the movies I wanna watch if their player isn’t compatible? I’ll tell you how, go buy a different brand name. Pay the money for the good ones folks or you might regret it. Mine’s goin in the trash.

This Bluray player works well and has a very sharp HD picture. I was able to purchase it on sale about 6 months ago at a local electronics shack for about half of the regular MSRP. I have had no problems with watching bluray movies until yesterday when GI Joe would not play. I followed the instructions at the sylvania consumer electronics web site to upgrade the player’s firmware by burning the software to a CD-R. Once installed on the player, the GI joe bluray played with no problems.

This DVD player works quickly, and takes care of all of my Blue-Ray DVD needs very well. I read about other players having slow response once you press the remote, but I read the reveiws on this one, and decided to give it a try. Not disappointed!! Highly recommended!! Thanks!!
